5. Alan Wilson Lecture - ‘Cursus Country’:
A lifetime living with pre-history with Martin Green

For all his life Martin Green has lived on a farm in an area of Dorset that is particularly heaped in prehistory. Digging up the past has become an all-consuming passion and his discoveries span over 70,000 years of history – enough to create his own museum.
Martin will talk about some of our region’s outstanding prehistoric remains, his investigations exploring them and his obvious love of archaeology.

6. Virtual Fly around Dorset
Talk by Hattie Miles

Join Hattie on a virtual flying tour as she takes off from Bournemouth Flying Club and flies West over Broadstone and Corfe Castle to the coast. Turning to the East she’ll take you to Highcliffe and Ringwood before landing safely back at Hurn. Along the way enjoy the amazing aerial views, find landmarks and discover some of the people connected to them.

7. Sweeney Todd - Romance, Riches and Retribution
Talk by Steve Herra

Discover the mystery of Sweeney Todd - the legend or actual serial killer?
Steve Herra takes you through a wealth of information about the barber but leaves you to decide if the story is fact or fiction. Come and find out for yourself if the victims, the revolving chair, the cellar door plus the connections between the pie shop, the accomplice and St Dunstan’s church are based on truth or are just the product of a good storyteller?

8. Two Churches and a Chapel Walk

This 8 mile hilly walk follows footpaths and bridleways in the area around Milton Abbas. We will visit the church of St Andrew at Binghams Melcombe and the church of All Saints at Hilton. On our return to Milton Abbas we will also visit St Catherines Chapel dating from the 12th Century.
Please bring a packed lunch, and allow time for tea afterwards, (not included in the ticket price). Please dress appropriately for the weather with stout footwear and also bear in mind the time of the year as some of the paths may be muddy.
